It was a powerful night of numerical alignment!  Rumors of our eminent demise  everywhere!  There was an energy in the air that night of an unknown…It was a prime time to align myself with the cosmic energy surrounding me.  It was a time for me to leave behind the negativity and pessimism.

Instead, I decided to celebrate this historic and powerful day, which also happened to be my birthday, in a very unique way!  I took part in a special Sound Healing & Meditation Workshop led by Jerome and Michael Burdi.  This was a small group experience consisting of 8 women.

The meditation began with some simple yoga and breathing exercises to prepare the body.  Followed by the writing down of our intentions.  Gentle sounds created simple rhythms, leading to personalized healing in the form of drumming over the energy centers or chakras.  Didgeridoo, Tibetan bowls and bells were used as well.   This was a surreal experience….I felt my body reacting to the vibrations of the sounds, slowly relaxing and embracing the vision of my intention.

Following the meditation we burned our written intentions together, setting them free into the universe.  It was an uplifting, soothing, and positive experience.  It helped change the negativity surrounding me into compassion and love for myself, others, and the world.  Gandhi stated that you must “be the change you want to see in the world.”  By changing my internal energy I became a catalyst to share my own positive energy and healing experience with others.

The evening concluded with a tea tasting, appetizers, and sharing of thoughts regarding the experience.  It was a warm and intimate connection for all those who participated.
