Mmmmm…it’s the 88th Annual Feast of San Gennaro! Little Italy was alive with the opening of their annual cultural feast celebrating the Patron Saint of Naples, San Gennaro. This 11-day feast represents a festive period of faith and redemption, a time for remembrance and reconciliation, and a time for celebration.
The streets were filled with crowds seeking an Italian cultural experience…the best sights, sounds, aromas that Little Italy has to offer! It was a melting pot of Old World Italian traditions with a modern Italian-American flare. My personal favorites were the thin crust brick oven pizza, Ferrara’s chocolate cannoli, and the fried zeppoli…Delicious!!!
This weekend make sure to take a trip to Little Italy and celebrate! The feast ends September 21, 2014.
Excellent!
