On April 11, 2015 the Humane Society New York and Friends of Finn hosted a Pup Up Shop event at the Highline Hotel featuring the dogs of Instagram – Tuna, Toast, and Finn. The event helped raise money for the Humane Society and the fight against puppy mills.
I had the pleasure of meeting these wonderful dogs, as well as Tuna’s owner, Courtney Dasher, author of Tuna Melts My Heart: The Underdog with the Overbite. It was a warm, fun event for a great cause!
Adopting a pet doesn’t only save the lives of these animals, but can also improve your life! Pets can help promote both the mental and physical health of their owners. Studies have shown that pets are good for your psychological health and may increase, not only the quality of your life, but also your longevity.
Remember, adopt don’t shop!
